We are a group of concerned outdoors men and women who want to prevent the extinction of the Ozark Chinquapin tree. Our mission is to restore it to its native range and the important impact it once had on the wildlife in our forest. Because of Harold’s accounts told to me of the importance of the trees I began to research and make others aware of what we once had in the Ozarks in June 2001. Long before me people such as Robert Barnes were already collecting seed and educating others about the importance of this tree that seemed shrouded in mystery because most people had never heard of it. A special thanks goes to all of the people I have worked with who have sacrificed unselfishly their time and money to help restore these trees. The purpose of this website and the work of the foundation are to educate people about the trees and through understanding will come appreciation for what we once had and how we can make a difference today. We have donated our time and money for this and expect no monetary gain from this venture. This Foundation site was made possible because of a higher calling we share to not sit back and allow these trees to be gone forever from our Ozark forest. We welcome anyone who wishes to help restore these trees to its native range and encourage you to join us in making a difference. Stephen Bost
